Let’s talk acne.
It’s frustrating at any age but especially when you’re an adult because, hello…you’re an adult. Aren’t zits meant for teenagers?
Not really. Acne can happen regardless of how old you are and can appear for a number of reasons including hormone changes, diet, and clogged pores. While there are lots of over the counter remedies, there are also natural alternatives that you can make yourself. You probably already have the ingredients in your home.
For this DIY, the star ingredients are Tea Tree oil and Witch Hazel. I love Tea Tree oil. As far as I’m concerned, it’s a miracle worker. It’s anti-bacterial properties makes it ideal for fighting acne-causing bacteria. It has also been shown to help with the inflammation that makes zits swollen and red. Witch Hazel works wonderfully as a toner and helps restore skin’s natural PH levels.
What You’ll Need
Tea Tree Oil
Sterilized rollerball or small glass container.
In glass container, drop 3-5 drops of Tea Tree Oil. Fill the rest of the container with Witch Hazel before covering. Give good shake before application. Use as necessary.
Isn’t that easy? For this to be the most effective, make sure to use on freshly cleansed skin. Do not put on open skin or wounded skin.
I highly recommend using an old perfumer rollerball or purchasing one like these, as I did. A rollerball allows for easy application and is super portable in case you want to stick it in your bag for touch-ups throughout the day.
